Do Not Buy From Transmission Parts Distribution Inc.

Do Not buy from Jeff Madison, owner of Transmission Parts Distribution Inc.

 Here is why;

   In August 2010 my transmission blew out of my 90' Chevrolet k1500. After some looking we found a transmission on Ebay from Transmission Parts Distribution Inc. After thinking everything was good with this company we purchased a 700R4 transmission with a 3year Unlimited Mile warranty. On August 27,2010 a transaction of $873.00 was transferred by PayPal to TPD.
  Get the transmission and then place it in the truck.
 January 2011 at roughly 4,000 miles and not even 6 months later the transmission blows out again, lost 3rd gear and up. So I have to have the truck towed. A day later I check the oil pan, find there was no magnet in the oil pan, which is quite funny being Jeff Madison claims to be a expert Transmission Rebuild, but seems to have missed the most simple thing to put into a transmission. Upon inspecting the oil, I realized I had a lot of metal shavings and clutch fragment in the oil.
  I call Jeff and ask what can be done about this problem. He tells me that once the transmission is out of the truck to call him back so he can arrange for R&L Carriers to pick up the transmission and once he receives the transmission he will send out a new one.
 After 2 weeks of dealing with this so called pick-up, the company had still not come. So Jeff gave in and said he would be willing to send a new transmission out and once we received it to send back the old one while the truck was there. Sounds good?? Not really.

Took over a month so far as you can notice from the email. Transmission came out on February 13th. On March 10th the transmission had still not shipped. Not good for me being I am paying for a truck to be on the road that well isn't on the road. Not only that but I paid for a 3 year warranty so I would not have to deal with this bs. Not only that but Jeff also liked to push blame off on R&L Carriers, which their records were alot better then Jeff's and I think it was low of Jeff to push off blame.

Ready for the kicker.

Finally on 17th of March 2011 we met up with R&L Carriers in Harrisonburg, VA, drove a hour and a half to go pick up this transmission just so we could get the transmission and get it in the truck.

Before accepting the transmission we opened the crate in was in...Jeff Madison, a master at rebuilding transmissions, also he knew this transmission he was suppose to send was to be a 700R4 for a 1990 Chevrolet 5.7L 4x4 truck. So what does he send after fighting for a month...a transmission for a 2wd V6, didn't even look like a Chevrolet Transmission, looked more like a Ford Taurus trans. Also the other kicker, Jeff didn't send a new Torque Converter, Master Rebuilder must not have realized that you cannot reuse a Torque Converter that came off a burnt up transmission, all you do when you do this is place all the old burnt up clutch fragment and metal shavings into the New transmission, a 10 year old knows this.

And last but not least, Jeff forgot to mention that once the shipment reached its destination a sum of $90 was to be paid to R&L for shipping, shipping cost was part of my warranty.

Now Jeff does not want to give my money back, says you cant take a TV back without returning the TV, well I also do not have to pay $90 to return a TV. Also if someone would do their job and call R&L about going to make a pick-up he would have his transmission back.

I hope that people read this before getting any transmissions from Jeff Madison at Transmission Parts Distribution Inc. All the reports that I wish I would have read before ordering from TPD are true.

Also if the Lawyer who has a case out against Jeff sees this, please contact me on here.

On March 21st I ordered a Transmission from Monster Transmission out of FL. On April 1st we received the Transmission.
